🌟 A Powerful Step Towards a Compassionate Future 🌟

Our Board President, Dominique Choy, had the opportunity to meet with Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat at the Singapore Volunteer Management Conference 2025. During this event, Dominique represented HCSA and received the Project V appreciation.

Project V is a corporate volunteering programme enabling companies to engage in regular, sustained volunteering at scale. Through this initiative, we’ve endeavoured to keep our volunteer programmes engaging by organizing a wide range of activities including food-making, calligraphy, and a mix of indoor and outdoor events. This approach helps maintain interest while fostering meaningful participation.

This initiative also enhances our corporate partner, C&W Services Singapore’s, volunteer recruitment efforts, providing an avenue for their organising committee, volunteers, and beneficiaries to form deeper connections. Moreover, this partnership further underscores how a shared sense of purpose can drive positive outcomes for the communities in need.

DPM Heng emphasised at the conference that regular volunteerism is essential for creating long-term impact. At HCSA, we rely on the dedication of volunteers who play a crucial role in helping us provide essential services, offering guidance, mentorship, and emotional support to those who need it most.

Volunteers who are consistently involved not only make a significant impact on the individuals they help but also experience personal growth and deeper connections to their causes. He highlighted findings from the NCSS 2024 Quality of Life study, which found that volunteers who engage at least once a month are 1.5 times more likely to report having a good quality of life compared to non-volunteers. The goal is to increase the number of regular volunteers in Singapore, with NCSS aiming to make one in two volunteers regular participants by 2030.

The conference also spotlighted the importance of corporate involvement in volunteerism. Initiatives like Project V, a partnership between NCSS and the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), are enabling companies to partner with social service agencies for sustained volunteer efforts. These corporate collaborations help create a more impactful and efficient volunteer ecosystem.

HCSA is committed to enhancing our volunteer programmes to ensure we can continue to support those in need. The insights shared at the conference reaffirm that volunteerism—when approached with consistency and commitment—has the power to transform lives and strengthen communities.

We are immensely grateful to all our volunteers, partners, and supporters—your commitment is making a tangible difference every single day. Together, we are working to build a future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and contribute to a stronger society. 💙

Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
