Mary Thomas serves as a Board Member of HCSA Community Services. She previously served as a Management Committee Member for HCSA SPIN.

Mary is an experienced and passionate Trademark Lawyer with over 30 years of experience managing Intellectual Property locally and globally, across both contentious and non-contentious matters. She has managed her own boutique IP firm for the last seven years, with offices in Singapore and Malaysia.

Mary is listed under the silver category of WTR: World’s Leading Trademark Professionals from 2018 to 2025, specifically under “Individual in Prosecution and Strategy”. She has also been listed as a Recommended Lawyer under WWL Southeast Asia Trademarks, National Leader from 2023 to 2024.

Mary had previously worked as in-house counsel for two large multinational corporations, one of which was among the world’s largest pulp and paper producers. In that role, she managed the company’s worldwide IP portfolio across more than 60 countries and regions.

Mary holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and is recognised for her IP risk assessment in Southeast Asia, including providing strategic, solution-oriented advice across the region.

Mary worships at St Thomas Orthodox Syrian Cathedral with her husband and attends CG under Covenant EFC. She is a committed Christian and studies theology in her spare time.
