Clares is Head of Legal, Asia Pacific at dss+, a global consulting firm focused on risk management and operational performance. An experienced in-house counsel, Clares brings over two decades of legal expertise across multiple jurisdictions and industries.

Her legal career began in private practice in Singapore, and furthered later internationally in London and Milan. From 2001 to 2003, she practised in London, followed by more than a decade in Milan from 2008, before returning to Singapore in 2019. Clares specialised in maritime law and international trade, focusing later on corporate and commercial work and has advised clients across a range of sectors, including shipping, commodities, oil and gas, metals and mining, and sustainability.

She holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of London and is recognised for her pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to legal risk and business strategy. Her international experience spans Asia Pacific, the UK, Italy, the Middle East and the US.

Clares currently serves on the Dayspring Management Committee, which oversees therapeutic and support services for teenage girls who have experienced trauma. She is also the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at HCSA.
