“I felt so alone and afraid because I didn’t know what to do, where to go to, or who to look to for support. I knew being a single mom would not be easy and I was fearful because society still finds it hard to accept single parents like us.
But joining SPIN helped me to realise that I am not as alone as I once thought I was. In fact, the volunteers and social workers showed me that I was never alone in this journey by offering to help me wholeheartedly should I ever needed help. SPIN even went to the extent of helping me with diapers, milk powder and other necessities for my child, which I am more than grateful for!
Being a part of SPIN was a huge comfort for me because I now had a platform to turn to and a community of single parents like myself. It was great getting to interact with other mums because we could relate to each other, share our experiences and encourage one another.
I have to admit that it’s still not easy to be a single mom, but at least I don’t feel alone and I know that SPIN will be there to support me into becoming a good mom.”
